Vaping Side Effects: Should You Be Concerned?
Return to Vaping Blog

As you may know, vaping is healthier and safer than utilizing the common cigarette as your form of nicotine intake. But does that mean that there are absolutely no side effects related to vaping? Not exactly. We’ll go over a few common side effects that you may experience in conjunction with vaping/nicotine withdrawal.

Nicotine Withdrawal

If you’re tapering your nicotine intake, it can be hard to decipher if you’re having side effects from vaping or nicotine withdrawal. Typically, you’ll see more serious issues when it comes to nicotine withdrawal such as: a sudden onset of acne, bleeding gums, weak immunities, skin issues, anxiety, coughing, dizziness, dry throat, and insomnia.

Vaping Side Effects

When it comes to strictly vaping, there are side effects but relatively less stark. Most people will only experience one or two side effects with the biggest being dehydration or dry mouth. Vapers may also experience dry and itchy skin. E-juice high in VG contributes to dehydration. Make sure to stay hydrated.

New vapers may also not realize at first how much nicotine they’re taking in since it’s easy to over-inhale when you don’t know what you’re doing. If you begin to feel dizzy while vaping, it’s time to take a break.

Some vapers may also experience allergies due to certain ingredients in e-juice. If you’re allergic to a food or other substance, then start there and trace back the ingredients if you have an allergic reaction. You might be allergic to ingredients like propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin (VG).

Furthermore, to prevent canker sores, don’t share vapes and keep mouthpieces clean.

If you are experiencing common side effects from nicotine withdrawal or vaping, then don’t be too anxious. It’s common for first-time vapers to be extra cautious and fearful. However, you can remain stress-free knowing that vaping is by far better for your health than smoking a cigarette.
